Spray Tan Friendly Lotions & Body Washes

The products you use between tans matter!

Want your spray tan to last longer and fade more evenly? Keeping your skin hydrated is key. The right lotion and body wash can make a difference in how your tan wears throughout the week.

My Favorite Lotions

I recommend using a daily moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and help your tan fade evenly. Look for lightweight, nourishing formulas without mineral oil or heavy fragrance.

A few of my favorites:

  • CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion – A great everyday option that helps keep your skin hydrated without feeling overly heavy.

  • Kiehl’s Creme de Corps – A rich, moisturizing body lotion that’s great for keeping your skin soft and hydrated.

My Favorite Body Washes

Choose a gentle body wash that cleans your skin without leaving it feeling stripped or dry. Avoid harsh exfoliating washes, body scrubs, and products with oils or ingredients that may interfere with your tan.

A few of my favorites:

  • Native Body Wash – A great everyday option with lots of scent choices. If you’re sensitive to fragrance, look for a fragrance-free option when available.

  • Method Body Wash – Another great option for your daily shower routine. Choose a formula that works for your skin and avoid anything that leaves your skin feeling dry.

Ingredients to Watch For

To help your spray tan last as long as possible, I recommend avoiding:

  • Mineral oil and heavy oils that can contribute to uneven fading or buildup on the skin.

  • Heavy fragrance if your skin is sensitive or easily irritated.

  • Harsh exfoliants and body scrubs while your tan is developing and throughout its wear.

  • Drying soaps and cleansers that can leave your skin dehydrated.

The bottom line: Hydrated skin = a happier spray tan! Stick to gentle cleansing, moisturize daily, and avoid exfoliating until you're ready to remove your tan and prep for your next appointment.
